Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

This week I created an audio track in Ableton by combining randomly selected presets in Pigments which is a digital synthesizer.

I was mostly motivated by a desire to further my technical knowledge of Pigments as well as a spur of the moment enthusiasm for sound design. The presets selected ended up being mostly ambient and atmospheric and creepy in nature. This resulted in a track that suited themes of horror and science fiction.

My musical tinkering is greatly inspired by the various exploits of Andrew Huang, a Musician and Youtube creative who has an extensive history of making music using all sorts of samples, constraints and methodology. I feel like an appropriate example would be his video 'Music Made of Garbage' in which he composes a song entirely out of samples of sound produced by otherwise discarded objects. However there are probably hundreds of examples of his work to choose from.
