In response to this week's CPS theme: Force and constraint that explains that limitation in technicalities does not affect creativity. I made three rules which I have to follow today in order to create anything I can:
- Only squares/cubes
- Monochrome
- Designs that interacts/reacts to soundwaves.
I created 2 iterations with the given time from a different platform but with a similar concept. The first project I made was a 2D animation of squares that appears and disappears by following the beat of the music. Using After effects, I can create a simple yet complex look of a group of 64 squares that I animated individually. By setting the scale keyframes to adjust and match the beat of the music, I can create a mesmerising ripple effect from a simple method.
The second project I made was a 3D animation of cubes that interacts with the soundwave of the music. By creating a Plane and replacing that plane into a grid of cubes while also using the displace modifier, I can manipulate the cubes random movement. To match the movement to a soundwave, I inserted a keyframe in the "Strength" option of the displace modifier and bake a sound file to the F-Curves of the strength keyframe in the graph editor. Thus, the movement follows the jagged lines of the soundwaves.

Similar work has been made by Ducky3D where he made a guide on how to make anything matches to sound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8RHRNZQEuE&t=18s
