In response to the theme of constraints, I made some inspirational quote posters/videos using Blender (and then compiled everything in Premiere).
As I have been just generally tooling around making 3D objects in Blender, and have a strong interest in abstract art and film, I set myself a few parameters within which to make a project that extends my skillset. These constraints were:
1) It has to be a motivational poster/video
2) Each image has to have one object made of glass
3) Each image has to have one opaque object
4) I have to select a randomly generated quote.
By locking myself into these constraints, I was actually able to focus instead of being bogged down by the endless possibilities presented by Blender, and then went onto make a compilation video that I'm actually pretty happy with (though it made my sister's baby cry).
Similarly abstract work is made in Blender by Ducky 3D. They make some pretty cool tutorials that I've been following (or trying to). I've also been getting into "randomly- generated projects" like Instagram filters that offer random outcomes like "What Nationality Are You?". I like that humans are starting to play around with AI in this way and I wanted to introduce this element into my own work. I got the quotes from Random Quote Generator and they seem to connect well with the images, somehow.
