In response to the theme of ‘Characters and Events’, I created a short comic strip using Procreate depicting the life cycle of a locket and how the sentimental value placed upon the locket at certain times affects the environment around it. By utilising different colour palettes, I showed how the locket affected the environment around it, including the mood of the scene. It’s world begins to reflect it’s value and vice versa, as where the locket ends up being in turn results in a further decrease or increase of emotional attachment. Similar work has been produced by TAIKO Studios, whose work, One Small Step explores this theme by demonstrating how the character’s environment influences their dreams and aspirations and can really dictate how they act and feel. While in return, as the character faces hardships, it begins to reflect in the environment as well through the colour usage and how they are causing the relationship of the people in the world around them to change.
