In response to the week theme character-action-environment(events), I made a concept art about exploring and expressing the inner thoughts of the character.
By drawing in procreate on ipad, I first drafted the concept of this work, and studied the structure and the direction of the extension of the rotating staircase to complement my design. The Fibonacci number(Successione di Fibonacci) is considered to be the most mysterious and beautiful sequence in nature, it is also called a golden section. The core idea of this work is that a person is climbing his own mind ladder, visualizing the thought process, it's similar to the concept of the 'mind palace', expanding the role itself as an environment. At the same time, I set the identity of the character as an astronaut, in order to make the picture more sci-fi, and the character can be recognized as a female through the face on the stairs, showing her confusion and growth.
Similar works as my inspiration are shown below, they all enbody this idea, some of them are beautiful while some are creepy, through the picture, they conveyed a different feeling to the audience, creating different themes and feelings with composition, colors and elements. In my work, I choose to use bright colors to convey the light atmosphere.
