Theme: Characters, Place & Events
Method: Illustrate a character in such a way that it is immediately apparent what sort of environment they are from, even though their usual context has been stripped away
Context: ...i'll get back to you
Response:
Much of my work revolves around visual storytelling. Over the past few weeks I've explored how an environment can tell us important things about the characters who inhabit it, but I haven't yet explored how the character's design can tell us about their world. So, I did a quick sketch to explore the context.
I decided it would be more fun to draw the character outside of her usual space. It's a good way to test whether or not my visual cues are strong enough - and if they are, it also makes the image a bit more fun, as the viewer can then wonder why she's where she is.
