In response to the theme of Character, Environment, and Events, I made a vector art, using Abode Illustrator, of how designs of houses differ depending on the environment, it’s in.
By creating these designs, I was able to show how humans in different parts of the world have different ideas about house designs and materials. This shows how they have evolved over the years depending on their surroundings. For example, people who live in hot and humid places, places that are surrounded by desserts, tend to build houses out of muds with a lot of windows. This is done to maintain even temperatures inside the house and keep it cool. Whereas people living in northern Canada and Greenland, where it’s cold and snow covers the land for months, tend to build houses from snow and ice called igloos, which are designed to preserve heat.
Similar work can be seen on a website called kidcyber (https://www.kidcyber.com.au/houses-around-the-world), where the post talks about different kinds of houses around the world, the materials used to build them, and the places they can be found.
