CPS WEEK 9: Character and Events

In response to the theme of character and events, I drew a picture by using Photoshop. By drawing a background for the original character – Egbert. I used light-colored hair and clothing to convey his gentle temperament, while the vacant palace in the background creates a feeling of remoteness. With a gorgeous face, a calm demeanor, and a sense of remoteness, the entire feeling was defined. When starting out on the character design, I don’t get caught up in the details. I like to sketch all and then polish them, most important in this step is to decide the emotion. Because Egbert is designed in the Japanese animation style, the drawing style is restricted. I'd want to experiment with different styles in the future. 

Similar work has been produced by Poland artist Len-yan, whose Len-yan digital artworks explores this theme by perfectly combined the mystery background and the stunning characters.
