In response to the theme of Character, Environment and Events, I made two motion comics, showing two flowers with different mindsets, and saw their different futures in the mirror of predicting the future. When the flower of pessimism looked in the mirror, it saw the miserable appearance of itself withered in the future. However, the flower of optimism saw a sea of flowers in the mirror. That is its offspring, which means the continuation of its life.
By painting in procreate of the iPad, I drew two keyframes. After that, I used After Effect to add dynamic effects to the pictures. For example, in order to show that this is a magical mirror, I use the effects of fading and ripple distortion to make the image in the mirror slowly emerge.
My inspiration comes from the Chinese idiom "镜花水月"：flower mirrored by the mirror and the moon reflection on the water，which means a mirage, an illusory object.
Similar works come from a dynamic comic of ONE PUNCH-MAN made by a youtuber named madagaga. He cleverly combines graphic comics with dynamic elements. Dynamic special effects are added to the static pictures, so that the characters or things in the comics can make simple actions, such as walking, and the camera can also be pushed and pulled. Narration, dialogue and background music were also added, which greatly enhanced the appeal of the work.
