In response to the theme of time, I explored how objects can be effected by the passage of time. I made a material for use within game engines that allows for objects to rust and age with the passage of time. I created this using substance designer and Unreal Engine 4. By creating a material that actually allows for an input of "time" or "condition" I showed that objects are able to be effected by time within games, and that time can be utilised within the interactive space to be used as a means to create fun or interesting mechanics. Similar work has been produced by Nicolas Pirot whose work "Creation Dynamic Decay in UE4" which also explores this theme by allowing for multiple time and environment inputs that dynamically change the environment and its materials to represent those changes.
