Objects are not exhausted

CONTEXT

According to the definition of object-oriented ontology (OOO) on Wikipedia, it is a thought that rejects the privileging of human existence over the existence of nonhuman objects. On the other hand, the article ‘Game of object’ has also mentioned OOO in game design. Graham Harman suggested that an object can interact and affect other objects. These statements reminded me of the ecosystem that each organism plays an important role in the ecosystem to keep it sustainable. Otherwise, it is like the dominos with a broken chain that stops at the midpoint.

METHOD

After illustrating the objects in Photoshop, they were imported into Unity. Rigid bodies and colliders were applied to them so that the objects can interact and affect other objects. A game trailer was done with After Effect.

RESPONSE

Inspired by the materials in ‘context’, I had an idea of making a domino game. There are five objects in the domino chain at the beginning. After the dominos started to collapse, the players have to drag the objects nearby to continue the domino chain until the whole world is collapsed. Besides, practising on generating a new game idea, this is the first time that I have a try on the physics 2D in Unity that might be useful in the future for my studio practise. Also, I had a little bit more practise on character design with the use of Photoshop.
