[CPS] Week 5 OOO (Object-Orientated Ontology)

In response to this week’s theme of Object Orientated ontology, I made a scene that chromium oxide substance gets heated up by fire and causes an explosion using After Effects.

By building a relationship theme plot between fire and Chromium Oxide and of them arguing loudly, I showed that not only human interactions have sentiments, substances that human cannot empathise also possess logics of reactions. By generating the flames in a natural chemical reaction instead of artificial tools, I showed the rejection of the privileging of human existence over nonhuman objects, as there are unexpected lead to the event.

Similar work has been produced by sabrinamarti, the art shows the bleeding/crying rose (based on individual’s perception, link: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CbjXE8oNuy3/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=), explaining the heartbreak connotation to the nonhuman objects, technically I also get inspired by the morphing transformation from leaf to a blood/tear, so for me, to simplify the visuals, I transformed the sky into a particle field. Also the example of thischemical reaction is made by Thoisoi2 (https://youtu.be/12Z_VeDtnuM), giving me a clear demonstration of this reaction.
