CPS Week 4: Discussions of Place

In response to the theme of discussions of place, I made a drawing of an environment sketch by using Photoshop. I believe that the environment is an integral part of the character, they are not distinct. The environment is a character in its own right. A quiet, mystical lake peeking out of a gorge, surrounded by mountains, was the scene I wanted to convey.

By layout the colours with large blocks of colours I showed that emotions are expressed by the use of light and dark colors. The place's atmosphere may be influenced by changes in light and shadow. Changes in light and dark can bring different moods to audiences. A vast field of visible light can make a scene hopeful, while a small amount of light in the shadows can make a scene mysterious.

Similar work has been produced by Arty-Phil, whose works of environment fine art drawing explores this theme by the different mood by using different light and dark colours.
