CPS Week 3 - Found Object [Zombie vs Horse]

A football match with Zombies and Horses. Stop motion animation

Sentence 1:

Response to the theme Found Objects of this week. I picked some tokens and objects from 3 boardgames and used them to play a football match. Record the match and make them to stop motion animation.

Sentence 2:

By doing this I showed that object could plays a different role just depends on how you think of them. Although those horses and zombies are designed as static token, they still can be assigned life and show how could them become dynamic.

Those toy soldiers are used to build scene for models. They are static but they still can be used to play an dynamic story.

They story and that BGM music are inspired by some videos like this:

This BGM always be used in some unexpected bad things happened and it makes the scene looks funny.

Theme: Found Object

Method:

I used some tokens and objects from 3 boardgames and tried to use them play a football match. Record the match and make them to stop motion animation.

Context:

There's many boardgames in my home and I tried to explore some ideas from them. I looked at "Lift it" at the beginning since it is a creative game(First picture). By playing those shapes I got 2 gates and this gives me idea of playing a football game. 

I need characters as football players and I tried to use my gundam models. While models are too big and hard to control in stop motion animation so I given it up and looked at other boardgames. Finally I found 10 horses from "Long shot" and 30 zombies from "Mall of Horror.

I took so much time on finding something to support my phone in a fixed angle and about 2 hours on taking 63 photos.

Then I make them a video, added sound effect and also a ending scene in JOJO style.(This normally be used when something bad/tragedy will happen next)

Edit:

If you are interesting there's some settings and story of this work:

1.Zombie can't kick the ball and they can only push the ball by 3+ of them.

2.Horse can kick off zombies but if horse got attck from their side, they will fall down and kill by many zombies. 

3.Zombies can stand up soon although they have been kicked down.

4.After first battle, 5 of horses are dead. The rest 3 horses who tried to support flee away(Yellow, white and cyan). Yellow and white flee to backward because so many zombies in front of them. Cyan can only keep going forward.

5.While the gate keeper makes the situation changed. It kicked the ball and knock down the zombies. White passes the ball to yellow. Since most zombies were tracing the ball, there's no zombies around yellow. 

6.Those angry zombies killed gate keeper and white.

7.At the this moment, cyan just at the diagonal of yellow and flock of zombies are closing.

8. Yellow passes ball to cyan 

9.Cyan shots but the ball rebounds because it knocks down zombie's gate keepers.

10.Yellow gives a final shot but it breaks the gate...

11. The falling gate blocks the way to escape. Many zombies are coming! What is the destiny of those poor horses! To be continued~

Response:

It is interesting to think what other roles that those objects can play. All these objects are designed for specific usage but their usage have been changed after put them together. Exploring different meanings of object will helps much on finding creative ideas.
