In response to the theme of found object, I made a 2D illustration of lightbulbs using the app Paper on iPad. I was inspired by the broken heat lamp in my bathroom because I had to swap it out for a new one.
By turning the empty lamp into a home for fairies, I was able to think outside the box and reassign the object’s purpose. This week’s activity also benefited me in my future designs.
Similar work has been produced by Ryoichi Kanai, who is a famous Japanese garden artist known for using recycled items in his designs in a completely different way (熟肉【之前之后好吃惊】物件220 漏雨的庭园, 2021).
