CPS Week 3 Found Object

In response to this week’s theme of Found Object, I designed and produced a 3D Note-taking Pen Holders as users can not only use the product to hold series of pens but also take quick notes and daily to-do lists, or even make quick sketches on the mini whiteboard of the product. The wall of this product is produced into a mini whiteboard with a specific area beside to hold specific markers separating from usual pens and pencils. Mockup is modelled in Maya 2020 and textured in Substance Painter. 

By combining the function of object holding and note-taking, I expanded the function of pen holders in another creative and tinkered way. I also demonstrated my interpretation towards pen holders in a more ‘student-designed’ way. 

I couldn’t discover any similar works of this product but I own the inspiration from DIY origami pen holders made from unknown members in social youtube channel of ‘Fixitsamo” for cool designs sharing. I was inspired  to redesign and recreate pen holder in another functional way.
