Theme:

Found Object - to consider the different ways that objects and materials can be utilised in our practice.

Method:

I will photograph my found object, a statue of Garuda, in order to create a character that I can animate.

Context:

The Making of Angela Anaconda - www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfJWJWW4Fwg

My response for this week was largely inspired by the art style presented in Angela Anaconda, an animated tv series from the early 2000's which utilised photographs as digital puppet assets.

Response:

After photographing the Garuda statue from multiple angles, I used photoshop to cut out the key body parts of the figure. I then imported these body assets into Toon Boom Harmony on separate layers and attached deformers to create a simple rig. I then produced a short looping dance animation.
