This week's theme was found objects and I made a small stop motion sunrise animation with some colored thumbtacks I found by tacking them onto a cork board. I lined them up in a cross stitch format to emulate embroidery and took a couple takes. By doing so it showed how any basic object lying at home could be potenially turned into art or a vessel for it.
I thought of how Palestinian-American artist, Jordan Nassar (http://www.jordannassar.com/) utilizes Palestinian embroidery to create artwork that separates his work from traditional patterns by using color to create shapes. As Max pointed out to me, embroidery wasn't really a found object, so it didn't really fit into the theme so maybe I could use the PES Guacamole (https://youtu.be/dNJdJIwCF_Y) video we saw in class as inspiration.
