In response to the theme of tinkering, I made a pixel art gif of a little pirate exploring alone in the ocean using Aseprite.
By playing around the colour scheme of the background, I wanted to create the theme of loneliness within my art. I also lowered the horizon to expose more area of the sky, in result, making the character seem even smaller.
Similar work has been produced by One Wing Cicada, whose pixel art game named Tardy explores this theme by having a main character Ramto who wakes up on an abandoned spaceship in the middle of space (One Wing Cicada, 2018).
