In response to this weeks theme tinkering, I created a set of texture patterns. I created some very unusual textures by using tools that I had never thought of painting with before, such as toothbrushes, spoons and spatulas, and then using Photoshop's decolourisation masks. I then combined these textures with some simple patterns. Through this series of exercises, I discovered that there are many tools around us that we have never tried before that can be used to great effect in our work. It produces unexpected effects. Max Ernst's work 'Forest and Dove' also inspired me a lot, responding to the unexpected marks and shapes created by the texture.
