Responding to this week's theme/task of "Observation" I created an animated loop titled 'Walking home in the Rain for an Uncomfortably Long Time' which I created and exported in .gif format using Procreate on the iPad. I tried to capture the resignation that I felt towards getting wet, whilst also experimenting visually with the way water alters shapes. I played around with my work and ended up creating a second version imitating video game UI, inspired by popular retrowave aesthetics.
Similar exploration of characters in rain and water can be found in several scenes of the movie Ferngully, directed by Bill Kroyer. Set in an Australian Rainforest the Movie often shows characters and wildlife coping and living in the constant drizzle.
