In response to the theme of Observation, I made an illustrated gif by observing an Aloe Vera plant in my balcony and adding a little bit of my imagination to it, using a marker and sketchpad and then the Procreate app on my iPad.
By making this gif, I showed how I saw the plant differently as compared to how another person might see it. To me, the overgrown plant that desperately needs to be repotted into a bigger pot looked as if it was crawling out of the pot, ready to grab an unsuspecting person by the ankle! I wanted to show how observation isn't merely stating facts or depicting things as is, rather it is coloured by perspective.
