In response to the theme of observation, I did an observation painting of a potato planter in the back of the house that I observed. Using Paint Tool Sai to draw it. I played with the colours, shapes and tones. My focus is on the colours and texture of the planter as a whole. By specifically recreating the image on digital applications, I was able to break down the real-life textures into simple, coloured, geometric/primal shapes that convey the composition's lighting and the object's texture effectively. I removed the background to further emphasise the object itself.
