CPS week 1-Observation

In response of the theme of Observation, I made a sketch of the si xi doll by procreate. Si xi doll is originally a fantasy creature represented chinese folk handicrafts that made good use of visual illusion. The shape of it shows two babies sharing  4 legs and 4 bodies. However, from any Angle, audiences could see four babies though it only has two heads. Further, the whole shape of si xi doll looks like an ancient Chinese copper coins that means this creature brings people fortune and happiness. I made the drawing that is against its original implication. First of all, I made an assumption that si xi doll is a real creature that lives with a strange body which sharing two brains and four legs. Under the circumstance, one of si xi doll’s personality could be normal, goes to work everyday, maybe have a family or something. In a word, he has already got accustomed to this kind of life and enjoy it. However, the other guy could be not so lucky since they share one body, he might think himself is a freak and feel self-abasement, so he is the one live in shadow. This painting I made is a metaphor for the different people treat the same thing with different altitudes that result different consequences.
