Theme: Characters and events
Context: When this theme was given, I remember cleary that I was very hungry. Souvlaki or Kebab is the food that I though at that moment then I realised everytime I went to King John's Greek Tavern every Saturday night or Sunday morning to have quick break while I was working. There is the meat hanger station (I don't know what it called) which always has the heat light on top of it. However, the moment that the chef cut that meat out makes me happy everytime but I never think what the meat feels when it got cut until today.
I am a fan of horror movie, investigation movie and series such as CSI and Interrogation Room (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0487000/). When I started to think about the meat feeling. Those scene of the interrogation room flood into my mind. The red light from the top somehow looks scary so I researched about how light can create mood (https://photographylife.com/landscapes/how-light-creates-emotion-in-photography // https://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/dash/course/light-shadow/setting-mood-use-light-shadow-emotion/). It completely changed how I look at the meat after that. The moment of the chef reachs to cut the meat is getting slower and slower in my mind like in the movie of the murderer about to reach someone.
Method: I will create an small animation loop of the frightened meat by take a picture of actual the meat station and trying to draw on top of it. TV paint program will be used to deliver the method. Animation principle will be learned to make the animation smoothly flow.
Response: A GIF of frightened meat that is trying to escape from the scene made from TV paint program. I reduce the opacity of the actual picture to make the drawing line more clear and not distract it. I has 2 background idea. I was plan to draw no background to make it clean but it the animation looks incomplete so I draw a line on the background using different brush which is softer and smaller to make it not too busy so people can focus to the main character.
