In response to the theme of 'Observation', I made a sketch of the different textures and sewing lines seen on a nearby "Angry Birds" Plushie using a typical blue ballpoint pen on an A4 Piece of paper.
By using varying the pen strokes, lightness and weight of the ink markings, I showed the detailed construction process of the comfort object that on the surface may be easily overlooked. Highlighting its imperfections, uniqueness and focusing only on the remants that remained in ones mind once your eyes were closed.
Similar work has been produced by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who's work as a current Italian fashion designer for "DIOR", explores the theme of 'creation through observation' by taking observed inspirations throughout her life and work and to painstakingly sketch, conceptualise and highlight certain features or details into life. Living as physical, wearable, artistic pieces showcased on runway models.
