CPS Force

In response to this week’s theme ‘Force’ I created a set of rules for myself: 1. Use only arrows and ovals /2. Use only two colours: grey and orange /3. Add a broken glass. My rules act as limited forces, which restrict the work field, but at the same time allow to follow one unique style and not get confused in variety of colours and forms.

Firstly, I created a group of abstract surrealistic objects, which were combined on the one poster. Although all those objects are completely different they look harmoniously together. On the poster there are: the clock, the men’s face, an example of surrealistic environment and two absurd combinations of broken glass and arrows. 

Secondly, I created a short animation in Procreate, using the same style. 

As a context and inspiration I used contemporary abstract paintings of Antoni Tapies. I analysed paintings and created rules, which might apply to his artworks: 1. Scribbled lines /2. Smeared paint stains /3. Fusion of materials 4. Using sings /5. Highly textured base.
