Character Place & Simulation - Week 7

Throughout Studio 2 thus far, I have been working on a mobile virtual reality prototype that is designed to put users in a 3D space the distorts around them to evoke emotional responses felt by those who suffer from depression. 

Combining my passion for 3D environments, specifically those with stylised/fantasy elements, and my personal experience with depression, I am using Studio 2 to explore how effective distorted 3D environments are in eliciting emotional responses of isolation and anxiety.

The first half of Studio 2 was filled with experiments and white boxing tests, figuring out how to both code and create three interior spaces that will each explore their own theme of depression. 

I had been using Character Place and Simulation as an opportunity to work on areas of my Studio project, but intend to shift my mindset in the second half of semester to explore themes and ideas that I can incorporate into my prototype as the semester progresses.

This mood board highlights 3D artists and a similar mobile virtual reality experience that I can use as references throughout the remaining weeks of CPS.
