Cps week 9
Annotation
In response to the theme of Forces this week, I have created a 3d candy world using Autodesk Maya. By doing so, I have worked with my own set of rules that I created for myself and working with those constraints, I came up with my output. This week I have worked with the concept of drawing complexity out of simplicity. I created a simple set of rules to work with and then started making things one by one. I wanted to combine the idea of forces with universal liking. As I went on to create them, I created a 3d candy world altogether!! The rules I created this week to work with were:
1. All objects are low poly
2. Use only blinn material
3. Use only white, pink, brown and yellow
4. All objects should have arcs
After forming these rules, I thought I should work around creating a things that are liked by everyone. So I thought that many people especially kids do have a sweet tooth, So, I came up with the idea of making candies, cookies, ice creams, lollipops, marshmallows, gummy bears, candy canes, chocolates, and Ice cream truck! Also, I wanted to create some things which are imagined by the people by are not always available. For instance, many people want to know such a place in real life but that is unfortunately not available. Towards the end, I complied it all and created a candy world out of it. Now this world full of candies is ready and I can use it in the future semesters to make an interesting game or a linear animation piece.
I started off by creating simple things like candy canes and popsicles and iterated through it and moved on to the creation of gummy bears, Ice cream trucks, cotton candy and so on!
Similar work has been produced by Takashi Iwasaki. His work, “A visualization of an imaginary world” through hand embroidery helps transport the onlooker to another world and this artist has been working and exploring his art and passion from many years now and has a deep influence on artists around the world.
