THEME
Play and body
CONTEXT
The inspiration for my painting of this painting came from traditional Chinese mythology. In the past, there was nothing but an egg in the universe. A life (Pangu) is conceived in the egg, and Pangu wakes up in the egg. He conjured an axe to split the egg. The egg split into two with a thunderous crack. Slowly, yin and yang began to separate. Everything dark and heavy sank down to form the Earth. And the rest, light and clear, drifted up to form the heavens.
But Pan Gu was anxious that the halves would close up again, and so he stood between the two halves to keep them apart. This toil, the conscientious giant endured for another six million five hundred and seventy thousand days, or another 18,000 years, until he was certain that the realms were finally stabilized. Then with a great crash, Pan Gu lay down and died.
As the weary Pan Gu collapsed, a miraculous transformation took place: His eyes became the sun and the moon, and his body and limbs became mountains and rivers.
At the same time, my inspiration came from the Northern Song Dynasty painter Wang Ximeng "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains"

METHOD
In order to draw such a picture, I mainly choose to use photoshop to draw such a picture. The main choice is to imitate the traditional Chinese silk painting "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains". In the drawing process, I first drew the line draft and then chose to use a soft brush to paint.
This painting mainly drew such a scene: Pangu's eyes before his death, Pangu's eyes are about to become the sun and the moon, the body gradually becomes a mountain, and the blood becomes a river etc.
RESPONSE / REFLECTION
In the process of painting, I found that traditional Chinese painting is not as easy to paint as I believed. I spent a lot of time on line drafts. But despite the time spent, the line drafts did not satisfy me. At the same time, the texture of cloth and paper in traditional Chinese paintings is difficult to imitate in Photoshop. Therefore, I did not spend a lot of time on colouring, but the approximate colour did not have many details.
