Context:

For themes, play and sound, I want to see how to use sound in everyday life. Computer desktop wallpaper can display sound waves. This kind of dynamic wallpaper is more interesting than static wallpaper. I want to try to show this sound wave in our daily life. I began to think about how to create 'sound visualization' audio.

Method:

I took apart an old stereo and split the most important audio coil. The changing magnetic field formed by the coil through the current and the permanent magnetic field of the permanent magnet repel or attract each other, produce vibration, and then produce the sound. I put the magnet ball into the coil and the magnetic field changes after playing music, causing the ball to vibrate. The magnet can attract the ferrofluid, and the small ball drives the vibration of the ferrofluid.

I saw a very interesting reference video on the Internet, which is about the production of ferrofluids audio. In the video, the change of sound current is used to control the magnetism of the electromagnet, resulting in the change of ferrofluid. I think it's very interesting. I also want to use magnetic fluid to show the vibration of sound. However, due to the limitation of materials, I can only use similar principles to test. There is no way to achieve a very beautiful effect.  

I think the combination of magnetic fluid and sound is imaginative. Because when we think about how to amplify the vibration of sound, we always think of light or electronic software first. Understanding the motion of magnetic fluid requires a certain degree of physical knowledge, so if there is a lack of physical knowledge, it will become a great obstacle.
