Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

Theme: play and forces

Context: according to the theme of this week ‘forces’, I thought any external or internal forces that can change an object can be studied, such as wind, water, electricity and human being. In the field of animated, games and interaction, these factors can well construct the direction of the research topic. Therefore, I want to change my previous research methods ad try some new fields. I looked up some material on the website and watched a lot of videos. I also thought about many ideas that could make this week’s topic come true. I found the power of water in nature worth studying and developing. Whether in animation or games, artists always try to show the power of water. How to depict the details in the software, making the works more realistic has become the goal of the current artists. I found a video about create a little animation in blender.

Method: I created a little 3D animation about a ball falling down into the water because of gravity in blender. This is my first time to use blender, and I need to learn a lot.

Response: I found it a little difficult to work out how to present the water in perfect detail. I need to constantly modify various parameters in the controller, render, and determine the appropriate parameters by comparing the effects of each time. The moment the sphere upward because of the squeeze. I really enjoyed studying this process, and I found that animation in 3D software is very visual.

Reflection: in the process of animation with the help of 3D software, I can better observe objects and realise experiments that are impossible in my daily life. At the same time, I think I should make better use of 3D in my future work, so that I can realise many possibilities when doing 2D animation.
