Theme:
Play and Place
This week‘s theme is Play and Place. I designed a prototype of an offline platform for pets and people to play and socialize together. I named this place PP Play Club. PP means Pets & People. Through this place, the interaction and connection between humans and pets will be strengthened. This place not only supports the pleasure and social needs of humans but also meets the entertainment and social needs of pets and pets. Even people without pets can come to this place to play with pet animals.

Method:
In the beginning, I used the method of online research to find content related to entertainment places on the Internet. I found content related to pets helping people recover. I found out that pets are human companions who can play with people and bring physical and psychological benefits(David, 2020). So I decided to design an environment where humans and pets can play together without barriers. I combined the idea of ​​a park lawn with pet restaurant. A concept area is proposed, which not only provides a safe and comfortable play area for pets and their owners but also provides hygienic and delicious food service. In the second step, I used the method of sketching prototype to find further problems. Though sketching I considered the problem of drinking water after pets play, drinking water hygiene problems,   temperature comfort problems and pet safety management when the pet owner is away. etc.

Context:
This week's theme is Play and Space. It occurred to me that pets have always been perfect companions to humans, able to play with humans. So combining these two concepts, I want to design a place where pets and people can have fun together. The above is the initial idea. Centring on this concept, I designed and optimized this concept through sketching prototypes and online research. Although many places currently have pet restaurants, pets are not naturally suited to stay in a small environment for a long time. However, human beings are more accustomed to relaxing, sitting, chatting and resting in a comfortable environment. So I joined the concept of the dog play area in the park so that pets can run and play freely in a wider area.

Reflection:
This is just a design concept and needs to be tested and optimized iteratively. For example, the commercial profitability of this service, how to deal with pets or people injured during play, different entertainment methods for different species, and the smell of pets. If these problems can be solved, the concept will certainly be able to provide a good impact on citizens and pets.
