Method

I used photoshop to draw such a picture, telling a night when the electric light was broken. The light in my room can not work at that night, and I didn't buy a lamp at that time. The only light I can see is the outside light shining through the shadow of the tree in my room. I just sit by the window and look outside. The shadow of the tree is like the ripples of water. So, I started to imagine that I was actually deep in the sea.

Context

My inspiration came from the work of トーコ Toko.

Her work is very good at using the environment to express some very interesting fantasy. In particular, she used the reflection of the glass of the building to show the image of a whale, which makes people feel that the whale can fly in the air of the city. This has had a very big impact on my work, I tried to use glass as a space conversion.

RESPONSE

At first, I thought about exploring some space exploration, such as Pokémon ball, Harry Potter's tent, Doctor Who's phone booth... I started to want to use the concept of books. I try to put many objects larger than the book into the book. Then I began to think about the conversion of using space. Turn the night into the depths of the sea. This is some fantasy about tree shadows, they can be water ripples or deep-sea creatures' shadows.
