Play and Place

Method:

This week, I chose to use 3D modeling to complete the creation.

I used Blender to build a dreamy lawn,Including modeling and rendering.

Context:

This week I was mainly thinking about how to integrate Place and Play. Place can be the content of Play, it can also be the container of Play. Sarah Parrish in her book 'Opening Contemporary Art' argues that specific site give works of art a deeper and more complex meaning. So I hope this work can focus on 'specific place'.

As a 3D beginner, I usually only use software to build some simple geometry. This time I want to be able to focus on a few different 'Places'.

  1. The first 'Place', my own work, is an exercise in using modeling software to build a dream scene (this is something I have never tried)
  2. The second 'Place' is the place of presentation - Internet video presentation.
  3. The third 'Place' is the way of display - Different types of static displays.


Reflection

In this week's creation, I tried to spend a lot of time learning the software. During this modeling experience, I learned how to build some scenes, such as furry grass, and add sunlight, backgrounds, materials and render them. I learned how to fill the image with a harmonious gradient. This gave me some basic understanding of Blender, which I believe will be of great help to me as I continue to learn Blender.
