APD Week4----Play and Place

Theme: Play and Place

Context: Our daily life is inseparable from a variety of environments. The difference of environment will define the difference of people's life style. However, do we stop and carefully observe the environments of our daily life bring us fun? Actually, there are a lot of amazing works about environments. At the same time, we can also imagine some strange animals or monsters still live between us. So, I am going to research some references about art works and place. I found some interesting art works with place. I really enjoy these pictures. The artist used different places, like subway, elevator, even in the restroom. He created a amazing little characters in these places, they just stand with people. That is really funny. Besides, the idea of those places are extremely wonderful. I think it is a good exercise for my own project.

Method: I took photos about our campus, like stairs, tables and trash can and so on. First, I created a little monster and draw it on picture by using photoshop. I draw a little monster on the stairs. And then, I redraw it on a transparent plastic paper in order to bring it to the different places. I was looking for more potential ideas about the characters and places.

Response: When I put the transparent plastic paper on the different places, I found the places were given different definitions. At the same time, the character get more funny because of places. 

Reflection: These exercises are really good for my own project. I wanna to do a little live action animation about this semester. So, this experiment gives me a lot of feedback. And I think observation is very important to me, the rich imagination will bring a lot of amazing ideas.
