APD[week3]: Play and Object

Context

                The inspiration of the piece is form Kinbaku-bi(緊縛美)or Japanese bondage art. In respond to the weekly theme, I created the object in the situation of sexual activity.

Method

                I used a peach as a main object because of sage of its form, skin texture and colors, which reflects to the human body. By using Autodesk Maya, I created an animation of peach banded with red rope, which is similar to traditional Kinbaku. I used joint dynamic for the animation of the rope and particle FX of the liquid. At the end, I put kanji-character of peach on to reflect the objectivity.

Respond

                I show the animation to several friends, the feedback is in the same way that they think I made porn with a peach. One thing I did not recognize while I was making the animation, after I saw the outcome, the animation gives a feeling of obscene thought in sarcastic ways.
