It shows a series of pictures of daily life. The scenes are tranquil but a corner of movement is notable. Combine stillness scenes and a patch of a dynamic character in one photo is novel and more attracting. The extremely static makes the environment like a picture, but the rest movement makes it like a vide. The sense of feeling is between photo and video which is special.

Methods

 I shot a video using a mobile phone on the balcony beyond a street, the night is quiet and has few active passengers, only a tram passing by slowly. I want to make it by using the "Cinemagraphic" app. Mask the parts of the video that do not need to be dynamic, so the building can stop at one frame. the rest of the scene still moving, the tram keeps going.

Reflection

The track that trams passing by cannot be masked, so after the tram goes off, the track looked crooked. also, the video made by this app has large area watermarking which influences the visual effect so I give up using the Cinemagraphic app.

I also try on photoshop. I press and hold the camera key to shoot a series of consecutive picture and insert to PS. but the track still looked skew as the environment stops at the first picture while with time passing by, all the environment is not in the same position.

Finally, I try my best to hold my phone steady and take a relatively still video.
