In response to the theme Play+Forces, I have created a parent-child interactive game to help children realise the beauty of nature. As last week I also made this game for my niece. While getting to know nature you will also discover different beauties. Take for example the shadows. Shadows are also a beautiful painting on a sunny day.
This week I used just a drawing board and asked my sister to take the children to the park to discover a different 'painting'. Light and shadow have always been an important part of photography and painting. Pick a sunny day, bring a piece of paper, place it among the flowers and plants, no more than a brush, no more paint, the shadows are this magical 'painting'.
I was inspired by Tim Knowles' TREE DRAWINGS, where she lets the wind move the 'drawing hand' of the tree by hanging sketch pens on low hanging branches and placing the quality of the painting under the genus. **The artist records the natural movement of the tree in the wind, as well as the moments when it is stationary. Like signatures, each painting reveals the different characteristics of the various trees as they sway in the breeze
Play is important for children's development because it allows them access into other worlds where they can have adventures without fear; This gives them an opportunity for self-discovery that would otherwise be impossible at home (Bruner & Postman, 1985). This means that when people are not playing they are not able to experience themselves as fully as they could if they were playing.
