APD_Week01_2022_Play+Self

In response to the theme of the first week, 'Play+Self', I recorded a video through a projector.

I listen to songs to relax when I'm alone and also read some song reviews to see other people's stories. Often times I would find that other people's comments would contain stories similar to my own. I copy these comments and translate and organise them. Through a projector, they are projected onto my own face. It's like sharing your own story on the internet. (I wear a mask and a hat, so no one knows who I am)

I was inspired by Japanese design studio Nendo's creation of a romantic world of skies under umbrellas - 'Uncovered Skies' where images change under the feet of the audience as they walk on a 15 metre long stage with specially made umbrellas. It is like the eye wandering over a long scroll of paintings, watching the story evolve over time.
I learnt a lot about the ways of PLAY through the first week of practice. I want to interact through light and shadow in the next weekly exercises. I think it will be a particularly interesting exercise.
