Theme: Play and Force

Method:

I use Sound and Motion as forces.

My concept is using people's sniffing/smelling behaviours to control the timing and pacing of the short animation. For example: If the inhale is fast, the animation will be fast, if people hoold their breath, the animation will stop, If the breath in/out is slow, it will slow down the beat of the animation.

The example was made to demonstrate the outcome of the concept, however Amanda (studio 1) is helping me to build the script that can make the animation synchonize its speed with the input of the recording.

Context:

Blake Byron - Smith Tone Immersive Installation

Respone:

Recordings of different people's smelling behaviours. A script test. An animation that demonstrate the concept better than the example. This short video is how the time in my animation react to people's inhale/exhale recordings.

This is the FULL smelling animation in 8 seconds. The reason I chose to animate in 8s is because the average duration of inhale/exhale I've recording is 8s.
