CONTEXT

Making such an animation comes from my childhood fantasy, I often use the camera as a sniper rifle. I hid in the corner of the room and imagined that I was on the battlefield as a sniper rifle. I used the camera in my hand as a sniper rifle.

Devin super tramp also mentioned this idea in his video. He filmed a video about World War II, except that the soldier's gun was replaced with a camera. And recently Tim also made a similar video. It's just that Tim's film no longer takes World War II as the background but chooses the transaction of illegal goods as the background of the story.

METHOD

These videos gave me inspiration for my work, and I chose to replace the sound of the gun with the sound of the camera shutter. At the same time, because the focus of the video is not the firearm itself, I removed the details of the firearm and only used one colour to reflect the firearm.

I mainly used photoshop, aftereffect and premiere pro for animation and sound production. At the same time, I collected, recorded, and downloaded some camera shutter sounds.

RESPONSE / REFLECTION

During the production process, I discovered that I actually didn't understand the subtle movements of the firearms when firing bullets, so I could only make them by intuition. On the other hand, matching the movement of the firearm’s bullets with the shutter sound of the camera has caused me trouble. It is difficult for me to match the shutter sound with the movement of the gun completely. It may be due to the frequency problem。

The rate of fire of a firearm is difficult to match the shutter speed. Especially when a single gun fires bullets, it is especially important to make the sound consistent with the picture, which is also the part that I spend the longest time.
