Theme: Character

Method: Attempt to describe a character by only showing other people's perceptions of them.

Context: uhhhhhhh i'll get back to you on that

Response:

Continuing the themes of investigation and drawing your own conclusions that I've been using for my APD assignments this semester, I drew a quick series of comics that involve three characters being interviewed about a fourth, unseen person.

While the interviewees themselves are rather literal in their depictions, the fourth character is not. Instead, we see only three heavily biased opinions on them. While I have my own idea of what this character is like, I'm not gonna bring it up here - it's much more fun for people to come up with their own ideas based on some vague-yet-specific descriptions.

Aside from being an entertaining illustration exercise, I can see several ways of incorporating it into a larger product. A detective game, for example. Or a game about gathering opinions on potential town mayors, and then trying to vote for the least-worst one. Removing a reliable narrator, and instead having a series of biased, contradictory ones has a lot of potential gameplay uses...
