In response to this week's theme play and sound.I looked up some projects on the Internet about music visualization.It seems to be a common way to use the audio spectrum to make small animations.

I tried to convert two pieces of music with After Efects, and made a simple animation of audio frequency spectrum, and matched the current sound with the motion of the spectrum in the picture.

I checked the key words of the week again before starting the production, and the first thing I imagined was to make a whale with particle effects. With the sound of the whale, the music wave spectrum started beating from the whale's back. I think this is a good audio visualization idea. But after hours of trying, I couldn't pinpoint the spectrum to the particle whale's back, which seemed to require a better camera tracking plug-in.The original tracking and positioning of AE always failed, which caused my spectrum player to get freeze.I also asked my friend who knows AE software for a solution. He checked by controlling my computer, but he failed to find out the reason due to operation restrictions.
As a self-taught AE beginner, I could not solve this problem by myself in a short time. Eventually I abandoned the particle whale idea and just combined the two segments of the spectrum together.
Through this process, I learned how to convert music into a wave spectrum and animate it on a fixed shape.This is very beneficial to my future project development.I had never done an AE animation before.Although this production did not achieve the effect I wanted, it was still a good process.It's fun to keep trying new software to make different things.In the future, I will try to make more AE works.
