APD Week 5: Play and force

Context

This week’s theme is force. I first thought of gravity. The earth is round, so we stick to the ground and live a normal life. What if the earth is polygonal? In my initial conception, I assumed that we live in a space where gravity is uncertain. Then every few steps we take, we may face earth-shaking changes.  Then there will be new social orders and laws of survival that accompany this phenomenon. I think this idea is very interesting, people may be able to use the uncertainty of gravity to produce new equipment and real-life gameplay. I believe that people will continue to adapt to this environment and develop lifestyles that are more interesting than real life.

Method 

I used procreate to creat the scenes. Use different angles of the same scene to show changes in object motion.The inspiration comes from Monument Valley, but this is not a visual game, it is a real scene transition.

Response 

The luminous ball in the scene will roll in the terrain due to inertia. I use it to represent a person walking around at will. When the scene flipped and changed, the ball stopped on a different plane. This means that people have come into contact with gravitational forces in different directions, and thus reach another plane to continue living. But this is normal in people's eyes. It is only a part of life. The items in the home will be placed on different planes, and the structure of the house is no longer square, but multi-faceted. By rotating the scene, the ball will rotate in the screen due to gravity, but reach a different plane.

Reflection

When I started working, I first thought of wind and water related forces.  By looking at some references, I realized that I had overlooked the most common but inconspicuous force, which is gravity.  My idea this time is very ambitious. I even conceived a game about a new human lifestyle.  Through these few homework, my thinking has become more and more extensive.
