THEME
Play and Time
CONTEXT
My inspiration comes from using calendars to indicate game progress in some games. So when I saw the theme of time, the first thing I thought of was the calendar.
For example, in Persona5, time travels day by day, and each day is divided into several stages (such as morning, after school, evening...), and most of the time players can freely choose their actions.
At the end of each day, it basically ends with the player returning to bed to sleep, and then turning the calendar back one day. The process of turning the calendar backwards not only means the end of this day, but also the beginning of a new day. This process has a strong experience of achieving stage goals, which is the first focus.
Through game information, players can predict what will happen in the next few days and plan their actions. This is the second important point: players will have a large number of short-term goals in P5, and a common carrier for these goals is calendar and time.
In Animal Crossing, there is a concert every Saturday and a firework festival every Sunday. So you can plan your itinerary according to the date every week and participate in the activities you want to participate in.
In Rich man10, the calendar is used to indicate the number of games, and the length of the calendar is set, that is, how many days are played, that is, how many games are played.
METHOD
I want to use the perpetual calendar to express the concept of time. When I was young, I used a perpetual calendar at home, with many years of dates. But because it is paper-based, the year is limited. This time I also used the 7 years dates to show the concept of time.
I use panoramic pictures to show playful because of my favorite digital artist DABEIYUZHOU. He uses panoramic pictures to show his works, giving people a strong sense of space. I also want to use this method to show the infinite time. And the panoramic picture is rotated 360 degrees, which is also a loop.
I used Ai to make a Chinese style perpetual calendar, and used the Insta360 nano app to make this calendar into a panoramic picture. Finally, use video recording and Pr editing to show my work.
RESPONSE
This panoramic calendar basically achieved the sense of space I wanted and was close to the concept of infinite time I wanted to use space to express. But there are still several shortcomings, which can be improved in the future:
1. I made a total of 7 years of dates, but I feel that the scale is not enough.
2. According to DABEIYUZHOU's work (https://m.weibo.cn/1878905274/4469085238939141), in order to make the work a stronger sense of space, he uses a spherical surface to process each angle. The final picture is closer to 360 degrees, which is very powerful. In the future, I will practice more to achieve the production of panoramic pictures.
