Play and Time
Context
"The concept of time begins with the Big Bang" - by Kari Enqvist, Professor of Cosmology
I believe the time is a very human concept of measuring invisible motion or should I call 'speed'. According to relativity, The Big Bang is the origin of time, hence, anything 'matter' formulated within the so-called universe has to directly or indirectly respond to the time. We as humans, do not fully understand the concept of time, therefore, our perception is limited to one dimension of time.
I always wondered the shape of time if it was a material object in space, or maybe, it is just another tool created by us to easily measure the movement of any object through space, like gravity.
Method
Create a looped animation to demonstrate the passing of time.
The depiction of time in Interstellar by Chris Nolan teaches us to think of time as the fourth dimension. The Supernova (Spherical Black Hole) in the movie is an interesting portrayal of how time heavily influences relativity, because of its human nature.
Response
This exercise aims to create a very short, looping 2d animation (GIF) reflecting on the concept of time.
Reflection
Recently, I am experimenting with Harmony, because, it provides a simple platform to the creator/artist/director to visualise 'anything' and quickly bring it to motion.
As per professor Kari Enqvist, it all started with a 'Tiny Dot' and since its explosion, the universe is expanding continuously. I would like to capture the moment of 'explosion' but in a continuous manner. So I took a simple black and white colours and drew frame-by-frame in Harmony. This is a 25 frames animated looping GIF, playing with 12fps.
