In a lot of games, or game trailers. This kind of animation are widely used. It is a good and easy way to show some narative animation in this style. I think the key point is using different layers` animation to create feeling of space and micro movement.
Response: I tried three shot animation. In the first one, I try to maximize the depth in space and hope to let the audience feel the crash although what they see is a quite still picture.
In the second one, I took a short vedio of the sink. The camera is moving very slowly and I try to fit the drawing keyframes to the vedio. The problem is that the vedio is much smoother than the animation frames. I don`t thing it works.
In the third one, I create the animation based on a famous photo in World War II, I think it is a good way to make a still moment a little bit more active. If one day I need to make a trailer for game or some introduction movie, this skill definately can help.
And I think it would be a good idea to add some foreground animation layers to create the feeling of air in my own project.
