Play and Stillness

Method

For this week I thought stillness as a concept. Thinking of games I know that incorperate this, I wrote down some key words that stood out to me. Play is typically associated with movement so I wanted to keep the concept of play whilst incoorperating the theme of stillness.

Context

Inspired by games like Flower, this game takes the gentle and relaxed gameplay to incoorperate it into a medatative experience. Flower is one of the best examples of this relaxed and flowing play that really is good at utilising both movement and stillness.

Response

In this game you play as a dandelion seed on a journey. The wind gently carries you through a field and through a forest. Your only goal is to reach as far as you can. Interacting and tapping on the seed will change it's direction sometimes you will land closer if blocked by an obstacle and therefore the seed will land and bloom, beginning the game again.
