For APD, the theme this week is Play and Time. Part of my experimentation is looking into animating a tunnel that goes on infinitely.
My first experiment uses colour to indicate movement, by having coloured rings inside a group of circles. This experiment is okay, but it feels like an amateur beginning and I wouldn't put this in a final object. The colours are garish, and the flashing effect is too intense.
My second experiment is with the grey tunnel. This is also a failed experiment in my eyes because even though there's a vague sense of movement descending into the tunnel, it is messy, and the illusion still does not work
My third experiment is with the purple rings that I have tweened. This is the closest that I have gotten so far, I reached out to the 2D animation club for some advice and one of my classmates suggested using circles in this way with their exponential growth. I am happy with the progress here, but this is also a failure because the limitations in Adobe Animate mean that I cannot have the rings infinitely looping without overlapping eachother in some way.
To rectify this, I am going to look into making a tunnel in After Effects, which my classmate recommended. I will likely have to look into practicing in After Effects with other projects as well in the future, so i plan to get comfy in that software.
